Greenberg Traurig Continues Long Standing Partnership with Family Promise of Morris County

MORRISTOWN, NJ – Nov. 30, 2020 – For the 15th consecutive year, global law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP is supporting Family Promise of Morris County (FPMC). The firm most recently donated to FPMC’s Fulfilling the Promise campaign which will be launching more broadly this fall with the release of FPMC’s “State of Family Promise” video premier which provides an inside look at how Family Promise is taking on the housing crisis, further exasperated by the impacts of COVID-19.

“It is an honor to support charitable organizations that make a real difference in the lives of many New Jersey residents. This year has been particularly challenging for people who are ALICE (Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed) and homeless,” said New Jersey Shareholder Barry J. Schindler, chair of Greenberg Traurig’s Global Patent Prosecution Group and Chairperson of FPMC’s Corporate Leadership Council. “I am proud that Greenberg Traurig donated funds that will help those who are experiencing a housing crisis secure safe housing, food, cleaning supplies, PPE, and other basic necessities.”

"Partnering with Greenberg Traurig for the last 15 years has allowed Family Promise of Morris County to grow the scope of its programs and services, and populations served," said Joann Bjornson LSW, Chief Executive Officer of FPMC. “Greenberg Traurig has stood by our side as we serve those in need in Morris County. Whether through pro bono work, financial contributions, volunteer time, or otherwise, they have always been a true partner and we thank them for their friendship."

FMPC is a non-sectarian, not-for-profit organization dedicated to ending the crisis of homelessness faced by Morris County families by partnering with other public and private agencies, religious congregations, and community volunteers to provide shelter, case management, and mentoring services leading to self-sufficiency. Most recently, FPMC has been focused on helping families overcome the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic – whether they be facing possible evictions or need new supplies to return to school either in person or remotely – FPMC pulls the resources together to address their needs.
