Tricia Asaro to Speak at the ABA National Managed Care Institute

NEW YORK – Nov. 9, 2020 – Global law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP Shareholder Tricia Asaro will speak at the National (Virtual) Managed Care Institute (MCI) on November 17-18, 2020.

Asaro’s session will cover the key factors to consider in all aspects of managed care deals and will address deal structure, key deal terms, risk assessment and mitigation, regulatory issues including change of control/ownership analysis and requirements, antitrust issues and post-closing implementation issues. According to its website, the MCI aims to converge issues of providers, managed care, and payors. The program will address the need to better understand the many varied legal questions surrounding managed care. Other topics of the program will include government program participation, litigation/claims trends, ERISA updates, value-based reimbursement/delivery-model changes, vendor contracting, and more.

Asaro serves as Chair of the Albany office Health Care & FDA Practice.  She focuses her practice in the areas of health care, and government law and policy and has broad experience representing managed care entities in business negotiations, regulatory compliance matters and corporate governance issues. She also has wide-ranging experience handling health care transactions, particularly regulatory approval of changes in control of managed care entities. Tricia advises many managed care clients, including Affinity Health Plan, Centene Corporation, and Oscar Insurance. Most recently, she advised Affinity Health Plan in its pending sale to Molina Healthcare and served as New York regulatory counsel to Centene in its acquisition of WellCare Health Plans.
