LOS ANGELES – June 16, 2020 – David J. Dykeman, Ginger Pigott and Liberetta Stennes of global law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP will be participating as panelists on a DeviceTalks Tuesday online panel discussion titled, “How COVID-19 is creating new IP and litigation challenges for medtechs” on June 16, 2020.
The June 16th event will discuss topics such as:
- IP strategy for companies innovating new technology or forming new collaborations
- Liability risks and immunity protections
- Impact of COVID-19 on litigation in the medtech industry
According to DeviceTalks’ website, the panel will provide information for entrepreneurs, investors, startup executives, medtech makers, design professionals, business development managers and anyone who wants to better understand how COVID-19 is affecting the med tech industry. In addition to Dykeman, Pigott, and Stennes, the panel will also include Jeff Mann, Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary of Cantel Medical.
DeviceTalks, according to its website, is a “series of peer-led meetings created to help medtechs most innovative professionals find the quickest way to clear troublesome bottlenecks.”
Dykeman, who serves as co-managing shareholder of Greenberg Traurig's Boston office and co-chairs the firm's global Life Sciences & Medical Technology Group, is a registered patent attorney with more than 23 years of experience in patent and intellectual property law. His practice focuses on securing worldwide intellectual property protection and related business strategy for high tech clients, with particular experience in life sciences, medical devices, robotics, materials, and information technology.
Pigott, a shareholder in Greenberg Traurig’s Los Angeles office, is vice chair of the Pharmaceutical, Medical Device & Health Care Litigation Practice and focuses her practice on products liability litigation with an emphasis on the defense of complex medical device and pharmaceutical products. She handles high-stakes, single-plaintiff cases (including through trial) and complex litigation, including MDLs, coordinated state actions and class actions working as both national and regional counsel. She also works with companies to reduce and eliminate litigation risk and has been instrumental in achieving early resolution by way of alternative dispute resolution and dispositive motions in a number of cases.
Stennes, a shareholder in Greenberg Traurig’s Minneapolis office, litigates complex disputes, representing clients on matters related to environmental and mass tort defense, products liability and commercial disputes for clients in the food, agribusiness, chemical and life science industries. She guides clients through complex issues that arise from chemical exposures from products or environmental releases, particularly under emerging regulation.
