Greenberg Traurig Represents Bio Pappel, S.A.B. in US$400 Million Loan Facility

MIAMI – June 21, 2021 – Global law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP represented Bio Pappel, S.A.B. de C.V. (BMV: PAPPEL), the leading paper producer in Mexico (Company), as borrower, in a $400 million multi-tranche senior secured syndicated term loan facility.

The proceeds of the facility, which was arranged by Credit Suisse, Scotiabank, and BBVA Bancomer, will be used to refinance the Company’s dollar and peso denominated debt for capital expenditures and working capital, and for other general corporate purposes. The transaction closed on June 16.

The Greenberg Traurig Corporate Practice attorney team was led by Emilio J. Alvarez-Farré, a shareholder in the firm’s Miami office, and Rodrigo Orozco Waters, a shareholder in the Mexico City office. Both are members of the firm’s Latin America Practice.

Orozco Waters represents clients in public and private financing projects, as well as foreign investment transactions, in the infrastructure, energy, manufacturing, financial, and commercial sectors in Mexico.
