Eric T. Hieber


Eric T. Hieber focuses his practice on construction and real estate law, particularly medium and large-scale commercial urban development. Eric represents parties at all stages of the commercial development life cycle, from project inception through design development, contract negotiation and drafting, project risk management, and pre- and post-completion dispute resolution and litigation. He has represented large commercial owners and developers in real estate and construction litigation, including claims for breach of contract, fraud, delay claims, negligence, defective design, failure to inspect, and construction defects. Eric also advises clients, including commercial developers and contractors, on trademark, copyright, trade dress, and trade secret matters.

Eric is a civil engineer who brings real-world construction experience to his practice from his time at one of the Bay Area’s largest general contractors, including deep experience managing project design development (from conceptual design to final construction documents), estimating, value engineering, procurement, contracting, BIM coordination, and construction management/administration.

Eric also advises technology companies and startups, particularly in the areas of real estate and construction technology.
