The Federal Bar Association Chicago Chapter is hosting the CLE program "Influencers, Social Media, and Legal Ethics – Hot Topics and Emerging Trends" on Thursday, July 25. This informative program will discuss the ethical and other legal minefields that may arise in the rapidly evolving body of law regulating social media use. For example, while companies’ use of influencer marketing is now the norm, federal agencies have begun cracking down on companies and influencers for false or misleading advertising. And while lawyers, too, may have a professional obligation to use social media to research jurors, plaintiffs, and witnesses, ABA rules and state ethics commissions have continued to police lawyers’ use of social media tools that may constitute improper communications or other ethical violations. GT's Danielle N. Garno (MIA) is a speaker at this event.
