Greenberg Traurig strengthens pan-European Real Estate Sector offering

24-strong team of Real Estate, Private Equity and M&A lawyers joins the London office

Dear clients and business partners,

We are pleased to announce a major step in the development of Greenberg Traurig’s European offering for the real estate sector:

In London, Greenberg Traurig added six highly regarded shareholders and their teams focusing on real estate, fund formation, private equity, M&A, and tax. With the addition of this 24-strong team of attorneys, Greenberg Traurig completes its pan-European offering across four international offices in Amsterdam, Berlin, London, Warsaw, and a strong strategic alliance in Milan.

The group joins from the London offices of King & Wood Mallesons (KWM, formerly SJ Berwin). Private equity fund lawyers Steven Cowins and Marc Snell, real estate transactional lawyer Matthew Priday, corporate, private equity and M&A lawyers Michael Goldberg and David Fitzgerald, and tax lawyer Clive Jones have all joined as shareholders, along with their teams.

The London office has been known for its first class corporate M&A and capital markets practice. With the addition of the team of 24 lawyers it now gains a highly renowned multidisciplinary legal team with a strong foothold in the real estate sector. Greenberg Traurig’s top ranking real estate sector offering in Germany, Poland and The Netherlands, combined with Greenberg Traurig’s London boost in international real estate capability in London marks a quantum leap in the growth of the firm’s pan-European real estate offering, which now makes up a team of around 140 lawyers.

“We are excited that this acknowledged team is now part of our European practice. Together with Greenberg Traurig’s tier 1 real estate practice across the U.S., we are best placed to serve leading real estate investors, developers, fund managers and financiers on both sides of the Atlantic”, says Christian Schede, Managing Partner of Greenberg Traurig in Germany.
