Greenberg Traurig Tampa Shareholder Kimberly A. Mello Elected Vice President of the Humane Society of Tampa Bay

TAMPA, Fla. March  9, 2016Kimberly A. Mello, a shareholder in the Appellate Practice based in the Tampa office of international law firm Greenberg Traurig, P.A., has been elected Vice President of the Humane Society of Tampa Bay. Mello will serve for a three-year term beginning in 2016 through 2019.

The Humane Society of Tampa Bay is dedicated to ending animal homelessness and providing care and comfort for companion animals in need. Mello has served as a member of the Board of Directors since 2012.

“We are thrilled to have Kim Mello as our newly elected Vice President.  She is a true animal lover and will help lead this organization into the future.  She believes in our vision of saving as many lives as we can because every life counts,” said Sherry L. Silk, Chief Executive Officer of the Humane Society of Tampa Bay.

“I look forward to this opportunity to better serve the Tampa Bay community and further promote the mission of the Humane Society,” Mello said.

At Greenberg Traurig, Mello has briefed and argued dozens of appeals in state and federal court, including the Florida Supreme Court, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit, and Florida's District Courts of Appeal. In addition to focusing on appellate matters, she has extensive experience briefing complex legal issues and providing other litigation support at the trial court level, during both the pre-trial, trial, and post-trial phases of litigation.
