Greenberg Traurig Shareholder Michele L. Stocker Named one of the Influential Business Women in 2016 by South Florida Business Journal

FORT LAUDERDALE,  Fla. – May 23, 2016 – Michele L. Stocker, shareholder and co-chair of Greenberg Traurig, LLP’s Consumer Financial Services Litigation Practice, has been named to the South Florida Business Journal’s 2016 class of Influential Business Women. This annual recognition honors “influential” women business leaders from a wide range of fields in our region. Stocker and 24 other women were recognized at a luncheon hosted by the publication Friday, May 20 in Fort Lauderdale.

“I am honored to have been named among such an accomplished group of professional and diverse women in the South Florida business community,” said Stocker. “I am grateful that Greenberg Traurig supports me in my practice and with all the organizations I am involved with in the community.”

Stocker is a commercial litigator with a broad range of experience representing clients in the financial services industry including regional and national banks, loan servicers, consumer finance companies, mortgage bankers, credit card issuers, debt buyers, and third-party debt collectors. She also regularly advises clients in employment-related matters involving discrimination, harassment, severance agreements, restrictive covenants, and wage and hour issues.

Stocker was honored by the National Diversity Council with the “Most Powerful & Influential Woman Award” in 2015 and with the "Glass Ceiling Award" in 2012. She was also honored among “100 Outstanding Women of Broward County,” in 2014 by the Boys and Girls Clubs of Broward County. Her community involvement includes serving on the Orange Bowl Committee and the boards of the Museum of Art in Fort Lauderdale, the Crockett Foundation, Children’s Home Society, and Pine Crest School in Fort Lauderdale.
