Greenberg Traurig’s Leslie Katz Recognized Among “Most Influential Women in Bay Area Business”

SAN FRANCISCO – May 10, 2017Leslie R. Katz, a shareholder at global law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP, was recently recognized by the San Francisco Business Times as one of the “Most Influential Women in Bay Area Business” for 2017. Katz and her fellow recipients will be honored at a gala awards dinner June 14 at the Hilton Union Square in San Francisco. G. Michelle Ferreira, managing shareholder of the firm’s San Francisco office, is among the San Francisco Business Times’ “Forever Influential Honor Roll” and will also be recognized for her continued influence in Bay Area business.

 

The “Most Influential Women in Bay Area Business” list recognizes women across a wide variety of industries who are business leaders, passionate about their careers, and significantly involved in their community.

Katz focuses on government law and policy, including energy, telecommunications, healthcare, emerging technology, land use, construction, infrastructure, development and public-private partnerships. She helps optimize the political, legal, community and business contexts in which her clients operate. Her ability to provide strategic counsel, for startups to Fortune 500 companies and public entities, comes from her diverse experiences in the public and private sectors.

She is a former member of the Board of Supervisors for the City and County of San Francisco, serving as chair and/or vice chair of numerous committees.  As a board member, Katz drafted and helped pass significant legislation related to technology, the environment, economic development, labor and human rights, including the Equal Benefits Ordinance. She was also elected to the San Francisco Community College Board of Trustees and has served on the Port Commission of San Francisco.
