Greenberg Traurig Represents BLDG Metro Capital LLC in $111 Million Acquisition of Washington, D.C. Hotel

WASHINGTON, D.C. – March 7, 2019 – Global law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP Shareholders Gary S. Kleinman, Farah S. Ahmed, and Nelson F. Migdal, Of Counsel Samantha Ahuja, and Associates Karen L. Geringer and Rosemarie Salguero represented a joint venture of BLDG Management Co. and Metrovest Equities, Inc. in its $111 million purchase of a 343-room hotel in Washington, D.C. on Feb. 14, 2019 from Pebblebrook Hotel Trust. Kleinman and Ahmed led the attorney team, Migdal and Ahuja assisted on hotel transition matters and Salguero assisted on liquor licensing matters.

“We were very pleased to be able to assist our hospitality clients in all aspects of this important sale, including the hotel management elements of the acquisition,” Migdal said.

Ahmed focuses her practice on real estate and real estate finance transactions. She has a broad range of local, national and cross-border experience representing investors, operators, lenders, and developers in the acquisition, disposition, development and financing of various classes of commercial real estate, including office, hospitality, retail, health care, industrial, multifamily, and mixed-use properties.

Ahuja focuses her practice on hotel acquisitions, operations, development and finance, hotel management agreements, licensing agreements, and commercial real estate acquisitions and sales. She advises domestic and international clients on the acquisition and disposition of hotels and other commercial property, hotel management and operations, franchising, licensing and branding, restaurant management agreements, lease negotiations, and casino agreements.
