Greenberg Traurig’s David Long-Daniels & Nikki Lewis Simon Named to Lawyers of Color’s Nation’s Best List

NEW YORK – July 9, 2019 –David Long-Daniels and Nikki Lewis Simon of global law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP have been named to Lawyers of Color’s inaugural Nation’s Best List. The list recognizes partners and senior-level corporate counsel who have achieved distinction in their fields and demonstrate a strong commitment to advancing diversity in the legal profession. Honorees were celebrated at receptions around the United States, including in Chicago, Dallas, and Miami.

Long-Daniels is Co-Chair of the firm's Global Labor & Employment Practice and Co-Chair of the Labor & Employment Practice’s Complex Employment Litigation & Trials group. Known for his creative approaches to difficult, high-stakes cases, he represents clients across the U.S. in complex labor and employment matters. He has tried more than 50 jury trials and approximately 20 bench trials and arbitrations. He is recognized as a leading defense trial attorney for bet-the-company cases and is frequently named among the very best trial attorneys in Georgia and handles complex litigation matters of importance, often with sizable monetary values throughout the country. Long-Daniels has been quoted in The National Law Journal, among others, on current legal matters, and his cross examination has been featured on ABC's "20/20" program. Long-Daniels is a champion for inclusion and diversity, locally in the firm’s Atlanta office as well as firmwide.

Simon, Greenberg Traurig shareholder and Chief Diversity Officer, designs and guides strategic initiatives and programs to deepen firmwide diversity and inclusion efforts that further enrich client engagements and community investments. Her role is indicative of, and integral to, Greenberg Traurig’s core values of collaboration and inclusion – principles that inform the firm’s operations and legal business in meaningful, positive ways. Simon is also active in numerous legal and diversity-focused organizations, including having started her service on The Florida Bar Board of Governors on June 28th, and completing her term as chair of the 160-member Standing Committee on Diversity and Inclusion of The Florida Bar on June 30th. In the latter role, she worked with other members of the committee to increase diversity and inclusion in The Florida Bar to better reflect the demographics of the state and develop opportunities for community involvement.
