Profiles in Diversity Journal Recognizes Two Greenberg Traurig Attorneys As ‘Black Leaders Worth Watching’

NEW YORK – Dec. 17, 2020 – Karen M. Kennard and A. Michael Pratt, shareholders at global law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP, have been recognized by Profiles in Diversity Journal as two of its 2020 “Black Leaders Worth Watching” honorees.

According to the publication, they were selected for the magazine’s inaugural award for being outstanding leaders who demonstrate their talents and skills, their dedication to excellence in all they do, their willingness to mentor and support the next generation, and their commitment to the larger community. Kennard and Pratt, along with 52 other honorees, are showcased in Profiles in Diversity Journal’s fall 2020 issue.

Kennard, based in Austin, TX, focuses her practice on government law, policy and regulatory matters with an emphasis on municipal local government issues. Her experience spans more than two decades and includes positions as City Attorney for the City of Austin, Texas and General Counsel for the Texas Municipal League. Kennard was listed as one of the “Top Attorneys in Austin” by Austin Monthly Magazine (2020); Austin Black Business’ “Top 10 Central Texas Super Lawyer Awards” recipient (2019); Best Lawyers in America® “Top Listed – Government Relations” team member (2018); and Austin Black Lawyers Association “Legacy Award” recipient (2012).

Pratt, based in Philadelphia, is an accomplished litigator, who concentrates his practice on complex commercial, financial and product liability disputes, having tried cases in state and federal courts, representing financial institutions, pharmaceutical and medical device manufacturers and governmental institutions, among others. With three decades of private practice at Am Law 100 firms, he brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to his broad-based representations, leveraging a rich array of prior legal experiences. Pratt is rated AV Preeminent® 5.0 out of 5.0, and he has been recognized in Best Lawyers in America, Acritas Stars™ Independently Rated Lawyers, “Star Lawyers,” The Legal Intelligencer’s “Diversity Attorney of the Year,” and Super Lawyers magazine.
