Greenberg Traurig’s Jéan Wilson Presents Fireside Chat During Inaugural Haitian American Business Leaders Summit

ORLANDO – Jan. 27, 2021 – Jéan E. Wilson, co-managing shareholder of the Orlando office of global law firm Greenberg Traurig, P.A., presented a fireside chat on business and community involvement guidance during the Enterprise Florida Haitian American Business Leaders Summit on Jan. 27.

The virtual summit – titled “Kreyol Pale, Kreyol Konprann” – was launched to introduce the Haitian American business community to Enterprise Florida. The event also provided the Minority and Small Business, Entrepreneurship and Capital Programs division of Enterprise Florida and partner agencies the opportunity to highlight Florida-based training, development, and finance resources for Haitian American small businesses. Additionally, Haitian American business leaders discussed various topics, such as legitimizing a business venture, finding capital, generating revenue, bottom-up marketing and partnerships, and relocation strategies.

Wilson, who is of Haitian descent, is the chair of Greenberg Traurig’s Orlando and Atlanta Public Finance Practices. He has broad experience as bond counsel, disclosure counsel, underwriters' counsel, bank counsel, trustee's counsel, borrower's counsel, and purchasers' counsel in various types of tax-exempt and taxable financings, including housing, transportation, public utilities, general obligation, sales tax, revenue, and tourist development tax issues, as well as tax increment, industrial development, and downtown redevelopment financings.

“It was a distinct honor to be invited by Enterprise Florida to participate in the Haitian American Business Leaders’ Summit; the program provided the participants with invaluable insight into acquiring the resources needed for success, growth, and job creation,” Wilson said.

Actively involved in the Orlando community, Wilson is a board member of the Central Florida Leadership Academy and a member of the Dean's Advisory Council for Florida A&M University School of Law. He is also former board member of the African American Chamber of Commerce of Central Florida.
