Greenberg Traurig Expands Litigation Practice, Adds Experienced IP & Commercial Litigator Andrew Halaby in Phoenix

PHOENIX – March 8, 2021 – Global law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP continues the strategic expansion of its Litigation Practice and Intellectual Property Litigation Practice with the addition of Andrew F. Halaby as a shareholder in the Phoenix office. Halaby is a seasoned trial lawyer and business advisor with 25 years’ experience practicing in commercial and intellectual property litigation. He joins the firm from Snell and Wilmer, where he was a partner.

Halaby’s clients often have matters involving from six to nine figures of liability exposure. He has served as lead counsel in a full slate IP matters, including cases involving patent, trademark, trade dress, and copyright infringement; trade secret misappropriation; unfair competition; cyberpiracy; and deceptive advertising. He has also led teams helping clients in disputes involving computer fraud and abuse, data security, data integration, search engine optimization, software development, software licensing, software conversion, and life sciences.

In addition to his litigation practice Halaby advises clients on issues and opportunities arising from Arizona’s new Alternative Business Structure (ABS) rule and regulatory amendments. He also works with clients on business disputes, having broad experience in all phases of the civil litigation process.

He is a member of the State Bar of Arizona's Ethics Advisory Group, where he fields ethics hotline calls from lawyers across the state. Previously he served on the Arizona Supreme Court's Task Force on Lawyer Ethics, Professionalism, and the Unauthorized Practice of Law and chaired the State Bar of Arizona's Conflict Case Committee as part of his career-long commitment to community service.

Halaby earned his J.D. from University of Kansas School of Law. He also holds an M.S. in Environmental Health Engineering and his B.S. Civil Engineering from University of Kansas. He is registered with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
