Bridget Berry and Lauren Whetstone Receive Palm Beach Women in Leadership Awards

WEST PALM BEACH – April 28, 2021Bridget A. Berry and Lauren R. Whetstone, shareholders in the West Palm Beach office of global law firm Greenberg Traurig, P.A., will be honored at the 37th Annual "Women in Leadership Awards” organized by the Executive Women of the Palm Beaches Foundation (EWPBF). The awards ceremony will be held virtually on April 30.

The Women in Leadership Awards are given to women who have demonstrated extraordinary achievements and leadership in the nonprofit, private, public and volunteer sectors, according to EWPBF. The organization provides executive and professional women with opportunities for networking and collaboration, educational programs that address timely issues, mentorship, and the development of leadership and advocacy skills. Members also provide professional and volunteer expertise to numerous nonprofit organizations in Palm Beach County.

In advance of the awards ceremony, Berry and Whetstone were each featured on episodes of the Women Who Lead podcast series hosted by EWPBF.

Berry will be honored in the “Private Sector” category. As a shareholder in Greenberg Traurig’s Litigation and Labor & Employment Practice Groups, she represents international, national, and local clients in a broad range of matters, including complex litigation, multidistrict litigation and class action defense, appearing in State and Federal Courts and before administrative agencies and arbitration panels. She also provides service and leadership to various not-for profits, including serving on the board of directors and executive trustee council of the Palm Beach North Chamber of Commerce, where she is co-chairing the chamber’s DEI initiatives. She continues to serve on the board of directors of the Legal Aid Society of Palm Beach, where she founded and chaired the Greenberg Traurig Independent Living Review Program representing children aging out of foster care.

Since 2012, Berry has been recognized in The Best Lawyers in America in the litigation and employment law categories, and in 2015, 2019, and 2021 was named “Lawyer of the Year” in employment law. Since 2012, she has been recognized as a “Florida Super Lawyer” by Super Lawyers magazine. Since 2013 she has been listed as a “Top Lawyer” in Labor & Employment in the South Florida Legal Guide, and since its inception in 2018 has been listed by Palm Beach Illustrated Magazine as a “Top Lawyer.” She has been recognized among the “Legal Elite” by Florida Trend in Labor and Employment and received The Florida Bar President’s Pro Bono Service Award. She has consistently been rated AV Preeminent 5.0 out of 5.0 and as a Preeminent Woman Lawyer by Martindale Hubbell. She was named Palm Beach North Chamber of Commerce Woman of the Year in 2019.

Whetstone will be honored as an “Emerging Leader.” At Greenberg Traurig, she is a member of the Litigation Practice, focusing her practice in the areas of complex commercial litigation and securities litigation. She also has broad experience representing domestic and international clients in state and federal courts, as well as before the American Arbitration Association and the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority. Since 2017, she has been recognized as a “Rising Star” by Florida Super Lawyers and in 2020 was named a “Top Up-and-Comer” by the South Florida Legal Guide.

She also provides services and leadership to not-for-profits, serving as chair of the board of directors of the Healthy Mothers, Healthy Babies Coalition of Palm Beach County, and civic organizations like the Economic Council of Palm Beach County, where she has chaired the Emerging Leaders Program since 2020.
