Greenberg Traurig advises Flughafengesellschaft Berlin-Brandenburg on lease agreement with easyJet for new hangar

Greenberg Traurig advised Flughafengesellschaft Berlin-Brandenburg (FBB) on the conclusion of a lease agreement for the construction of a hangar with the European airline easyJet. According to current plans, construction of the easyJet hangar at Berlin Brandenburg Willy Brandt Airport (BER) for the maintenance of the European fleet is scheduled to begin in the fall of 2021. It will be easyJet's first maintenance site outside the UK. The total investment volume of the project is approximately 20 million euros.

Greenberg Traurig provided comprehensive advice to FBB on all real estate aspects of the lease agreement.

The easyJet hangar is to be built in the new maintenance area of BER. With a total area of 11,500 square meters, the hangar itself will cover an area of 10,000 square meters and provide space for work on four aircraft simultaneously. According to FBB, operations are scheduled to begin in early 2023.

Background: The project is one of Greenberg Traurig's first mandates for FBB and, according to the client, is of strategic importance both for the attractiveness of the BER site and for easyJet.
