Anthony Cortez is on a leave of absence. 

Anthony is a regulatory attorney and business litigator with a focus on the representation of national consumer product companies and other businesses in compliance, commercial litigation, and government enforcement matters. Throughout California and nationally, Anthony advises and defends clients in legal, regulatory, and administrative proceedings involving numerous industries including food and beverage, supplement, drug, cosmetic, apparel, and industrial products, among others.

He is regularly involved in complex and high-dollar value litigation involving federal and state consumer protection and environmental laws, including CA’s Proposition 65, false adverting law, FTC regulations, and other labeling or marketing laws. He has handled matters involving the FTC, FDA, the CA Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment (OEHHA), the CA Department of Pesticide Regulation (DPR), and the CA Department of Toxic Substances Control (DTSC).

Anthony also has wide-ranging experience representing government contractors at the state and federal level. He has counseled service providers, developers, general contractors and subcontractors in both state and federal court and before numerous public agencies. His experience includes representing both contractors and vendors in public contract disputes, bid protests and, when necessary, litigation.

Esperienze Professionali

  • Represents numerous manufacturers, distributors, and retailers and other Fortune 500 companies in litigation involving California’s Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act ("Prop. 65").
  • Defended international resort developer in multi-plaintiff action related to the Interstate Land Sales Full Disclosure Act (ILSA) and California Subdivided Lands Act.
  • Defended national product distributor in defense of government enforcement action involving alleged violations of California’s false advertising law, and Sherman Food, Drug and Cosmetic Law.
  • Protested a public procurement involving environmental mitigation securing favorable result for client.
  • Secured, as an integral part of a litigation team, a $15 million arbitration award stemming from a major public works construction dispute.°
  • Represented a Fortune 500 company in a complex multi-party construction dispute achieving a favorable result and early dismissal.°
