Greenberg Traurig LLP Opens Denver Office

Growth continues as firm opens in 8th city in 18 months

MIAMI, FL -- February 1, 2000 -- Greenberg Traurig LLP, an international law firm with nearly 600 attorneys, today announced it has opened an office in Denver, the firm's first in the Rocky Mountain region and its eighth new office in the last 18 months.

The Denver office, which opened with six attorneys, expands the reach of the firm's national corporate and securities and information technology practices.

Witt, formerly of the Denver office of Freeborn & Peters, practices corporate finance and securities and information technology law. He has extensive experience in forming venture capital funds and securing portfolio company investments for emerging growth companies. Witt also has experience in information technology outsourcing transactions. In addition, his practice includes mergers and acquisitions, public securities offerings and equity compensation.

Also joining Greenberg Traurig as a shareholder is Josiah (Jo) Hatch, formerly of Freeborn & Peters, who practices corporate finance and securities, insurance and international law. An experienced corporate and securities attorney, Hatch, who also practiced for 12 years with Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher in Washington, D.C. and Denver, has handled securities, corporate governance, liability insurance issues and captive and consortium insurance matters, and is co-author of the legal treatise Director and Officer Liability, Indemnification and Insurance, published by West Group. He is a former special assistant to the chairman of the United States International Trade Commission and served as assistant director of the National Museum of American History in the Smithsonian Institution. Hatch also served as general counsel for the Fair Tax Foundation and was director and general counsel for the Fair Tax Education Fund.

Joining the firm as a shareholder is Mark L. Heimlich, also formerly of Freeborn Peters, who practices corporate and securities law. He has extensive experience in fund formation, venture capital financings and public securities work for emerging, ventured-backed businesses. Heimlich is also a certified public accountant.

Joining the firm as associates are Tiffany Griggs, Kelly Matthews and Chris McManus, all formerly of Freeborn & Peters.
