Greenberg Traurig Team Chosen to Present Panel Discussion on International Construction at 2014 Construction SuperConference

New Jersey and Washington, D.C. (Nov. 4, 2014) – Shareholders Robert C. Epstein and Robert S. Brams with the international law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP will be speaking at the 29th annual Construction SuperConference, taking place Dec. 1-3, 2014, at the Encore Resort at Wynn in Las Vegas, Nev. The conference is co-sponsored by the Construction Litigation Section of the American Bar Association.

Epstein and Brams will participate in the panel, “International Construction Contracting: Use and Application of the FIDIC Form Contracts”, to be held Wednesday, Dec. 3, 2014, from 8:30 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. PT. Epstein will serve as moderator and Brams will be one of the panelists. The panel will address the International Federation of Consulting Engineers (FIDIC) standard form contracting books used in international contracting as well as compare the various FIDIC contracting books. Additional speakers on the panel are William J. Wray from Meier Fine and Wray LLC; Michael R. Kolloway, Assistant General Counsel for Operations and Risk Management at AECOM Technology Corporation and Mike Carrato, Vice President of Legal and Contract Management at Alstom Transport.

According to the conference website, The Construction SuperConference is recognized as the preeminent construction conference aimed at professionals in the legal and commercial construction markets. The conference showcases many notable experts in the national and international construction industry. Greenberg’s panel proposal was selected from among the many submitted for consideration by the SuperConference Advisory Board.

Epstein, who is based in the firm’s New Jersey and New York offices, co-chairs Greenberg Traurig’s Global Construction Law Practice. With more than 38 years of experience, he has represented numerous public and private owners, contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, designers, sureties and other parties involved in major construction projects, and has handled a wide array of complex construction litigations involving claims of construction defects, project delays, payment claims and other disputes. Regarding Greenberg’s participation in the SuperConference, Epstein noted, “We are delighted to be addressing international construction contracting at what truly is the top tier annual event for the construction industry, and we look forward to this opportunity to interact with peers, clients, and thought leaders in this arena.” 

Brams co-chairs the firm's Government Contracts & Projects Group and is based in the firm’s Washington D.C. office. He focuses his practice on procurement law matters as well as providing counsel on the development and delivery of major infrastructure and other construction projects, both foreign and domestic. His clients included developers, governments and other owners, engineers, architects and contractors in a wide variety of international and domestic matters, including facility and infrastructure development, procurement, project management, public private partnerships, the preparation and negotiation of complex supply and service contracts, and project delivery. He is experienced dealing with bid protests as well as the litigation, arbitration and mediation of construction and engineering project performance disputes, both foreign and domestic.
