3 Greenberg Traurig Attorneys Included in Variety Magazine’s 2014 Legal Impact Report As “Game Changing” Attorneys

NEW YORK (April 16, 2014) Jess L.  Rosen, Mathew S. Rosengart and Paul D. Schindler, shareholders with the international law firm Greenberg Traurig LLP, have been included in Variety magazine’s 2014 Legal Impact Report. According to the magazine, the report lists the top 60 entertainment attorneys who are making a significant impact in the entertainment industry.  It includes attorneys whose work has helped shape the industry over the past year.

Rosen is Co-Chair of Greenberg Traurig’s Atlanta Entertainment and Media Practice. He focuses his practice on talent representation, including all facets of transactional entertainment matters in the music, film, television and new media industries. Rosen represents, advises and counsels numerous songwriters, producers, recording artists, actors, writers and executives in all aspects of their entertainment careers. He has also helped advise his clients with respect to all aspects of new business models for a changing industry.  Clients turn to Jess for guidance and insight for creative approaches to monetize their business and increase revenue streams available other than simply producing and selling music. Rosengart is a Shareholder in the Litigation Practice at Greenberg Traurig where his practice focuses on media and entertainment and complex commercial litigation. He is a former federal prosecutor, with substantial and diverse experience in entertainment litigation. Rosengart is noted for his trial experience and expertise, and for representing a number of Academy-Award-nominated writers, directors, and actors, as well as film production companies in high-profile entertainment litigation matters ranging from breach of contract to defamation to a range of film and television disputes. He has also become a noted expert on “pay or play” cases in the film industry and was recently asked by the Executive Director of UCLA Law School’s Entertainment & Media Program to present on the topic of “The Enforceability of Oral Agreements in the Entertainment Industry.”

Schindler, the Senior Chair of Greenberg Traurig’s New York Entertainment and Media Practice, is noted for representing clients such as Artist Group International, Marc Anthony, Lenovo, the New York Yankees, Harmon International and Live Nation.
