Greenberg Traurig’s Alan Sutin, Ed Chansky, and Jeffrey Smith to Speak at the 37th Annual Brand Activation Association’s Marketing Law Conference

NEW YORK — Nov. 5, 2015 — Shareholders Alan N. Sutin, Ed Chansky, and Jeffrey M. Smith from the international law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP will speak at the Brand Activation Association’s (BAA) 37th Annual Marketing Law Conference-Walking the Line: Between Innovation and Regulation. The conference will take place Nov. 9-11, 2015, at the Downtown Chicago Marriott Hotel. Greenberg Traurig is also a sponsor of this conference.

On Monday, Nov. 9, Smith will be speaking on “Ethics Issues, Including re Legal Opinions and Joint-Party Agreements” and Chansky will be moderating the panel “When are Gaming Styled Programs Legal.” Sutin will be speaking on the panel “Privacy by Design: What it Means in an Age of Mobile Marketing and Big Data?” Wednesday, Nov. 11.

BAA’s 37th Marketing Law Conference brings together the nation’s leading brands and law firms at the industry’s most important marketing and advertising law conference. According to the BAA website, the organization hosts 120 of the nation's leading executive and legal speakers from the Marketing and Advertising, Privacy, Social Media, and IP Law Bars, and from major brands and prominent federal and state regulators. The conference is expected to have more than 650 delegates and the program includes numerous topics with special attention to business practices that maximize client benefits. Other topics of interest include domestic and international promotions, advertising, sweepstakes, social media, privacy, targeted advertising, big data, mobile marketing, and intellectual property.

Sutin is chair of Greenberg Traurig’s Global Intellectual Property & Technology Practice, which includes the firm’s Privacy & Data Protection Task Force. His practice is concentrated in the areas of outsourcing, Internet law, computer law, privacy and data protection, intellectual property, licensing, advertising, marketing, and promotion matters. An experienced business lawyer, Sutin brings a practical, business-oriented approach to advising companies as they expand their use of new leading-edge technologies.
