Greenberg Traurig Represents LaPlaya Beach Resort and LaPlaya Beach Club in Acquisition by Pebblebrook Hotel Trust

ORLANDO, Fla. June 18, 2015 – A multi-practice, multi-office team of attorneys at international law firm Greenberg Traurig P.A. recently represented LaPlaya Beach Resort and LaPlaya Beach Club in Naples, Fla. in the sale to to Pebblebrook Hotel Trust. The combined purchase price of $185.5 million or $981,481. per key makes this is one of the highest per key hotel transactions in Florida history.

Greenberg Traurig represented the seller, LaPlaya, LLC, owned by affiliates of the Barron Collier Companies and Noble House Hotels & Resorts.

The Greenberg Traurig team was led by Orlando  Shareholder Michael J. Sullivan  and Associate Brandon K. Hueber.

“The historic prices are indicative of the tremendous  market interest that exists right now for trophy assets,” Sullivan said.

Sullivan, who serves as Co-Chair of the firm’s Hospitality Group, has wide-ranging experience in the acquisition, development, finance and disposition of properties. Hueber provides counsel to REITs, investment funds, developers, lenders and related other clients. Both are members of Greenberg Traurig's award-winning real estate and hospitality groups.
