2 Greenberg Traurig Attorneys Discuss Key ERISA Litigation Topics at NYC Event

NEW YORK – Oct. 26, 2016 – Robert M. Goldich and Todd D. Wozniak, shareholders of global law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP, will both be panelists at the 13th National Forum on ERISA Litigation. The event, hosted by the American Conference Institute, will take place Oct. 27-28, 2016, at The Park Lane Hotel in New York. The Forum brings together in-house counsel, federal judges, and outside counsel to discuss the today’s complex ERISA claims and class actions.

Goldich’s panel, “The ERISA Preemption Clause and Gobeille,” will address whether ERISA preempts and voids state law as applied to TPAs for self-insured employee health plans, the conflicts on and reporting requirements, as well as the implications for states’ ability to monitor healthcare markets.

Wozniak, co-chair of the law firm’s National Labor & Employment Practice’s ERISA Litigation team, will be a panelist on “Fiduciary Investment Litigation: Employer Stock, 401(k) Fee Cases, Stable Value Cases, and Settlement Practices.” The discussion will include post-Dudenhoeffer stock drop case law update, an analysis of the latest excessive fee cases being filed against universities and nonprofits, and related topics.

Goldich has more than 35 years of experience as lawyer and litigator representing employers in the key aspects of labor and employee relations. Goldich has tried to judgment more than 25 cases around the United States, and obtained summary judgment rulings in many others.

Wozniak is a trial lawyer who defends companies and public institutions throughout the United States in labor and employment, ERISA, and business disputes. During his career, he has defended more than a dozen class or collective actions and tried more than 40 cases or arbitrations to verdict.
