WASHINGTON — Feb. 5, 2016 — Global law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP elevated to of counsel Ryan C. Bradel, Patrick J. (P.J.) McCarthy, and Nicoleta Timofti in its Washington, D.C. office, and Rebecca B. Schechter in its Northern Virginia office.

- Bradel concentrates his practice in the areas of government contracts litigation, investigations, commercial litigation, and election/campaign finance law. He has represented clients on bid protests before the Government Accountability Office; litigated size protests and appeals before the Small Business Administration (SBA) and the Office of Hearings and Appeals; and directed internal investigations of, and litigated disputes in state and federal court with regard to, violations of FAR, SBA regulations, and the False Claims Act.
- McCarthy is a patent litigator who is also barred and licensed to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office. He has litigated matters across a broad range of complex technologies, including semiconductor packaging and manufacturing, analog and digital integrated circuitry, smartphone hardware and software technology, telecommunications, global positioning systems, networking, distributed computing, Internet search technology, vehicle collision systems, vehicle radar systems, cable and satellite set-top boxes, and satellite broadcasting. Those patent litigation matters have spanned federal district courts across the country, including in California, Delaware, Florida, and Texas (among others). Additionally, he has litigated patent disputes in more than 15 Section 337 Investigations at the International Trade Commission. McCarthy is also experienced in briefing and managing appeals to the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit.
- Schechter focuses her practice on business immigration and compliance, representing multi-national corporations and companies, as well as individual clients. She has experience with all areas of employment-based immigration, particularly H-1B, L-1, O-1, and E-2 petitions, as well as outstanding researcher petitions and labor certification applications. Schechter assists clients with global immigration matters, including business and work visas to countries in Europe, the Middle East, Asia, and Latin America. She also works on state and federal I-9 and E-Verify audits.
- Timofti is a member of the firm’s Litigation Group, where her global practice focuses on white collar defense, international investigations, anti-corruption compliance work, complex commercial and business litigation, and international dispute resolution. Timofti represents individuals from the United States, Eastern and Central Europe, as well as foreign sovereigns and state-owned entities in litigation in federal district courts, regulatory investigations, and in International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID) arbitrations. She also assists companies with implementing and assessing anti-corruption compliance programs throughout the world, and advises clients on the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act.
