Greenberg Traurig Continues Expansion of New York Private Equity Practice with Addition of Todd Bowen

NEW YORK – March 16, 2016 – Global law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP continues to strengthen its expanding Private Equity Practice with the addition of Todd E. Bowen as shareholder in its New York City office. Before joining the firm, Bowen was a partner at Mayer Brown.

"We are a unified firm with a clear focus on its strategic objectives and a long history of intense execution on a respectful, collaborative, and empowering platform," said Richard A. Rosenbaum, Greenberg Traurig's Executive Chairman. "In these times of disruptive change, we see strong client demand for a player with deep breadth and depth of the range of services necessary to support elite private equity and mergers & acquisitions practices on a global basis, while at the same time delivering extraordinary value not possible in traditional elite firms. We are fulfilling that demand and clients and top-tier talent are responding, big time. Todd is a wonderful guy who spent 16 years at Mayer Brown, a fine firm, and was seeking a nontraditional model for a changed world, and a chance to be an integral part of building something new, in his case the debt financing aspects of these and other transactions. We could not be more pleased to welcome him onboard, I am sure he 'gets' our vision and will easily fit our culture of respect and collaboration."

Bowen focuses his practice on corporate financing and related matters, with an emphasis on leveraged buyout debt financing, dividend recap financing, and cross-border financing. His clients include private equity sponsors, leveraged buyout funds, and debt investment funds, as well as other issuers of U.S. and international debt and equity securities.

“Todd is an exceptionally skilled corporate attorney, and we are thrilled to have him join Greenberg Traurig,” said Alan I. Annex, Deputy Chair of the firm’s Global Corporate & Securities Practice. “Bringing Todd on board reflects our Corporate Practice’s growth strategy as we assess the needs of our clients and build a unified team with the depth and expertise that will most benefit our clients.”

“I am excited to join Greenberg Traurig during this time of significant growth in the practice,” said Bowen. “I look forward to working with the first-rate corporate attorneys at the firm, who I know are personally committed to developing and maintaining relationships with clients.”

Bowen joins Greenberg Traurig’s Corporate & Securities Practice in New York on the heels of Christopher R. Machera, Adam S. Tope, and Christopher P. McHugh, Marc L. Mukasey, and Robert S. Frenchman, in Cybersecurity and Litigation, and Laurence A. Levy in Government Law and Policy, who all joined from Bracewell.
