Two Litigators Leave Vorys for Greenberg Traurig in Houston

Litigators David Oliver and Paul Kerlin joined Greenberg Traurig as shareholders in Houston, coming from the Houston office of Vorys, Sater, Seymour & Pease.

Oliver, who does civil litigation including products liability and mass torts, was the founding partner of the Vorys Houston office.

Oliver and Kerlin said they moved to Greenberg Traurig because of the opportunities to better serve clients and expand their list of clients with their new firm's global platform. Oliver said Greenberg Traurig's products liability and life sciences practices fit well with his practice. "When I started practicing law, Beaumont was the center of the mass tort universe … That universe has gotten a lot more diffuse," Oliver said.

Oliver also said he and Doug Atnipp of Houston, who is Greenberg Traurig's Texas co-regional managing shareholder, practiced together before at Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld and Porter Hedges, and he looks forward to working with Atnipp again.
