Greenberg Traurig Shareholder David B. Weinstein Appointed to the Board of Directors for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Tampa Bay

TAMPA, FL -- May 22, 2017 — David B. Weinstein, Managing Shareholder of the Tampa office of international law firm Greenberg Traurig, P.A., was appointed to the Board of Directors for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Tampa Bay.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Tampa Bay provides children facing adversity with strong and enduring, professionally supported one-to-one relationships that help to change their lives for the better. In 2015, almost 3,000 children were paired with mentors in Hillsborough, Citrus, Pinellas, Pasco, Polk, Hernando, and Sumter counties.

“I have long been a committed supporter of Big Brothers Big Sisters of America, and I am thrilled to now join the Board of the Tampa Bay affiliate. It will be a privilege to work with other members of the Board to positively impact the lives of our Tampa Bay youth,” said Weinstein, who also chairs the firm’s Environmental & Toxic Tort Litigation Practice. “Greenberg Traurig has been an active partner with the Big Brothers Big Sisters organization because we believe that the organization’s mission of mentoring children in our community can put them on a path to success for the future.”

Last year, Greenberg Traurig was selected as the Big Brothers Big Sisters of America 2016 Common Good Award Winner for providing more than $1 million in pro bono legal services to the nation’s largest youth mentoring organization. The award recognizes a partner that has provided an extensive, in-kind investment of services to benefit the common good of Big Brothers Big Sisters. The Tampa office also received the “Greenberg Traurig Outstanding Pro Bono Service Award” for its efforts on behalf of Big Brothers Big Sisters. The “Pro Bono Office of the Year Award” is given to the office that demonstrates a commitment to pro bono legal work, which has long been one of Greenberg Traurig’s core values and part of its commitment to give back to the communities it serves.
