Greenberg Traurig Honored for Diversity & Inclusion at CMCP’s 29th Annual Business Conference

SAN FRANCISCO – Oct. 12, 2018—Global law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP, a longtime advocate for diversity and inclusion in the legal profession, was honored as a finalist for the Drucilla Stender Ramey Majority-Owned Law Firm award by California Minority Counsel Program (CMPC), a non-profit dedicated to promoting diversity in the legal field by providing attorneys of color with opportunity and access for professional and business development. The firm was recognized at the CMCP’s 29th Annual Business Conference, held Oct. 10-12 in San Francisco.

Greenberg Traurig’s Michael H. Davis and Philip I. Person served on this year’s Conference Planning Committee, and Natassia Kwan, recognized among the American Bar Association’s 2018 “On the Rise – Top 40 Young Lawyers,” sits on the Ambassador’s Council. Greenberg Traurig has been a member of CMCP since 2012, and a sponsor of its annual Business Conference since 2015.

On Oct. 11, Davis spoke in a panel discussion titled “Keeping it real on Business Development.” Panelists shared perspectives on overcoming race, gender, and culture-related issues in cultivating business. Also on Oct. 11, Person helped coordinate and led a breakout discussion during the session titled, “Power Up Your Diversity and Inclusion Committee: Best Practices and Innovative Approaches for Maximum Impact.” On Oct. 12, Person also coordinated a “Speed Mentoring” session, in which mentees had the opportunity to meet with a diverse panel of accomplished attorney mentors in a round-robin format, seven minutes each.
