Greenberg Traurig Sponsors Clinical Innovation Conference in Washington, D.C.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Feb. 5, 2018 – Global law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP is a sponsor of the Clinical Innovation conference “Fair and Effective Incentives for New Uses of Established Drugs,” Feb. 8-9, at Georgetown Law Center in Washington, D.C.

There is increasing evidence that established medications can be used for the treatment of more than one illness. However, many pharmaceutical companies don’t want to spend the time and money required for secondary medical research and testing. This conference will discuss how many opportunities for secondary medical uses of established drugs are being ignored and what can be done to incentivize research into new uses of these known medicines.

Shareholder Nancy E. Taylor will moderate a session about "The Payor's Perspective: Regulating to incentivize value creation and repair a failed market." Additionally, Shareholder Barry J. Schindler will be a panelist during the conference, speaking on "Plausibility and Second Medical Use Patents."
