GT Adds Two in IP and Litigation Practices in Delaware Office

WILMINGTON, DE – April 5, 2018 – The Delaware office of global law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP has added Benjamin Schladweiler as a shareholder in its award-winning Intellectual Property & Technology Practice. Schladweiler joins from Ross Aronstam & Moritz LLP where he was a partner. Also joining the office is litigation associate Samuel L. Moultrie who joins from Wilks, Lukoff & Bracegirdle, LLC.

“As part of our strategy to grow in key practices, we sought a talented IP litigator to provide our national IP clients who have to appear in Delaware with seamless service from one Greenberg Traurig team. The addition of Ben to our team allows us to stand out as one of the few global firms in Delaware with an IP litigator with his level of technical knowledge and litigation experience,” said Diane N. Ibrahim, managing shareholder of the firm’s Delaware office. “We are pleased to welcome Ben to the firm and also are excited to have Sam join the Delaware office.”

Greenberg Traurig opened its Delaware office in 1999 in response to the impact the unique and increasing role Delaware law and courts have an on our national and international clients. The office includes attorneys who have experience advising clients on the legal aspects of complex corporate and commercial matters and litigating in all of Delaware’s federal and state courts.

“We are excited to add a patent litigator of Ben’s caliber to our Delaware office. Delaware has always been one of the most important venues for patent litigation, and after the TC Heartland decision its importance has only grown. Our clients will greatly benefit from Ben’s local knowledge and experience,” said Scott J. Bornstein co-chair of the firm's Global Intellectual Property & Technology Practice.

Schladweiler litigates complex civil and intellectual property disputes, with a particular focus on patent litigation, in the United States District Court for the District of Delaware, as well as in other federal and state courts. He represents clients in matters arising from diverse technologies, ranging from the electronic arts (including software and semi-conductors) to pharmaceuticals and medical devices.

“I am excited to join this highly regarded team. Given Greenberg Traurig’s reputation in the IP litigation arena, particularly patent litigation, as well as within the IP practice, I know that my clients will benefit from the resources of a global platform without sacrificing value and excellence in the delivery of legal services,” Schladweiler said. “In turn, I look forward to collaborating with my colleagues and participating in earnest in the growth of the practice and of the Delaware office.”

A small sampling of Schladweiler’s experience includes the representation of a large electronics company in patent litigation involving more than 1,600 accused products; of a telecommunications company in a large 14-patent case spanning various technologies; and of a pharmaceutical company in a billion dollar patent infringement action in the District of New Jersey concerning a blockbuster drug.
