SEATTLE, WA – April 24, 2018 – Global law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP attorneys Kemal Hawa and Emily Naughton will be participating in the Data Center Investment Conference & Expo (DICE) Northwest, April 25, at The Westin Seattle. The conference attracts tech firms as well as private capital and institutional investors.
Hawa will moderate the panel, “The Cloud Revolution: Cloud and Connectivity from Fiber to Cyber,” at 10:45 a.m. PT. His panel will address the centrality of network infrastructure to data centers and the Cloud, and the importance of the network to the growth of future applications. Naughton will moderate the panel, “Data Center Site Selection: Cost of Land & Power, Economic Incentive and More,” at 12:30 p.m. PT. Her panel will discuss key issues in site selection and the role of incentives in data center investment in the Pacific Northwest.
Hawa focuses his practice on corporate and securities law, with an emphasis on the telecommunications, media, and technology industries, domestically and internationally. He regularly advises public and private companies, private equity firms, investment banks, and creditors’ committees on a variety of matters, including mergers and acquisitions, bankruptcies and restructurings, investments, financing arrangements, licensing agreements, and commercial transactions. Hawa assists clients with the negotiation of transactions in the cloud computing space, including the negotiation of data center and co-location leases, globally. He also has broad experience in the negotiation of network infrastructure transactions, including submarine cable systems (builds, financings, and capacity procurement), as well as terrestrial fiber optic network transactions.
Naughton focuses her practice on transactions in the communications, media, and technology space, with an emphasis on cloud computing. She has represented clients in connection with real estate acquisitions, development projects and leases, mergers and acquisitions involving cloud service providers, and telecommunications network infrastructure deals. Naughton has represented some of the world’s largest content providers globally in connection with network procurement and colocation and data center leases involving providers ranging from multinational companies to single facility operators.
