He advises and counsels numerous songwriters, producers, recording artists, actors, writers, and executives in all aspects of their entertainment careers. This includes consulting and negotiating alternative deals outside of mainstream avenues with companies across various and emerging industries, such as food and beverage, on behalf of his clients. Most recently, Rosen has advised on numerous deals between his entertainment clients and major spirits brands to create a client-inspired product, an evolving trend in expanding his clients’ portfolios. As a professional jazz guitarist, Rosen has a unique perspective and understanding of both the creative and business issues faced by talent today.
Rosengart, a member of the firm’s Media and Entertainment Litigation Practice, is based in the firm’s Los Angeles office. This is Rosengart’s fifth consecutive year being featured in Variety’s “Legal Impact Report.” A former law clerk to Justice David Souter on the New Hampshire Supreme Court, he also served as supervisory assistant United States attorney, and Justice Department trial attorney. Recently named one of California’s Top-100 Trial Lawyers by the National Trial Lawyers Association, Rosengart is noted for his deep and diverse trial experience, where he has served as lead counsel in more than 20 trials. His practice has focused on the representation of a number of Academy-Award-nominated and winning writers, directors, and actors, as well as film production companies, in high-profile, complex entertainment litigation matters and trials ranging from breach of contract to defamation to significant film and television disputes.
