Greenberg Traurig’s David J. Dykeman Moderates MassBio Symposium Panel

BOSTON – Jan. 29, 2019 David J. Dykeman, patent attorney and co-chair of Greenberg Traurig, LLP’s global Life Sciences & Medical Technology Group and Boston Intellectual Property & Technology (IP) Group, moderated the Massachusetts Biotechnology Council (MassBio) symposium panel, “Building an IP Fence Around Your Drug Device Combination Product,” Jan. 24. The seminar was hosted by MassBio’s Medical Devices Committee. Greenberg Traurig Boston Shareholder Roman Fayerberg is a founding committee member.

Dykeman’s panel session addressed how combination products today blend drugs, devices, and services to improve patient outcomes. Panelists discussed how device IP can add further value and protection by including hardware, software, and data mining in addition to traditional delivery, diagnostic, and monitoring devices.

Dykeman has over 20 years of experience in patents, IP, and licensing, and focuses his practice on securing strategic worldwide IP protection and related business strategy for high-tech clients, with particular experience in life sciences, medical devices, biotechnology, and healthcare IT. He is the founding co-chair of the American Bar Association’s (ABA) Medical Devices Committee and served on the Editorial Advisory Board of Medical Device + Diagnostic Industry (MD+DI) magazine. An accomplished author and a speaker on medical devices and life sciences IP, Dykeman was honored as a “Life Science Star” by LMG Life Sciences, and was named one of the Top 250 Patent and Technology Licensing Practitioners in the world by Intellectual Asset Management (IAM) magazine.
