Michelle Ferreira and Martha Sabol Named ‘Women Worth Watching’

NEW YORK – Oct. 8, 2019 – Global law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP Shareholders G. Michelle Ferreira and Martha A. Sabol were selected as 2019 “Women Worth Watching” by Profiles in Diversity Journal. This award identifies, promotes, and supports women in leadership.

Profiles in Diversity Journal is “dedicated to promoting and advancing diversity and inclusion in the corporate, government, nonprofit, higher education, and military sectors,” according to its website.

“This award is a testament to Michelle and Martha and their leadership inside and outside the firm,” said Susan L. Heller, co-chair of the firm’s Women’s Initiative. “Both women are extraordinary champions for diversity in the legal industry, especially for women. We are thrilled that they have been recognized.”

Ferreira serves as the co-managing shareholder of Greenberg Traurig’s San Francisco and Silicon Valley offices. Between these two offices, she supports 56 attorneys and 38 business staff. Ferreira also serves as a mentor to younger attorneys in the firm and is involved in the firm’s Women’s Initiative, which focuses on fostering the success of women attorneys.

Ferreira counsels individuals, partnerships, estates, and corporations in tax disputes with the Internal Revenue Service and state and local tax agencies, including the California Franchise Tax Board, the State Board of Equalization, the Employment Development Department and county assessment appeals boards.

Sabol is co-chair of the Gaming Practice and the Women’s Initiative. Through the Women’s Initiative, she is deeply involved in developing women attorneys through creating and supporting local and national programming, professional and client development, and mentoring.

Sabol represents national and international casino owners, operators, and suppliers in the areas of regulatory compliance, acquisition, licensure, internal investigation matters, and corporate counseling. She has more than 10 years of experience in management, sales, and sales leadership that she gained while working in the contract management industry.
