ORANGE COUNTY – March 7, 2019 – Global law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP Food, Beverage, & Agribusiness Practice Shareholder Justin J. Prochnow and Of Counsel Gayle Strong will speak at this year’s Natural Products Expo West convention, March 5-9, at the Anaheim Convention Center. This is the fifth year the firm has presented at Expo West, which is the world’s largest natural, organic, and healthy products expo, attracting more than 80,000 industry professionals annually. On March 7, Prochnow will moderate the panel, “Building and Protecting Your Brand.” The discussion will focus on insights on analyzing products and companies and how to best protect and build their brand while avoiding common mistakes. Strong will be a panelist as well as Fred Hart, partner and creative director of Interact Boulder; Justin Trout, co-founder and COO of Health-Ade, LLC; and Neel Premkumar, founder and CEO of FORTO. They will discuss their unique, successful, and fresh approaches to building and expanding their brands through intellectual property protection, social media promotion, carefully crafted marketing campaigns, and other avenues.
Prochnow, co-chair of Food, Beverage & Agribusiness Practice and a shareholder in the Denver Litigation Practice, focuses his practice on assisting companies with regulatory, business, and legal needs in the beverage, food, dietary supplement, cosmetic, medical device, and OTC industries. He works closely with companies to ensure regulatory compliance with statutes and regulations enforced by the Food and Drug Administration, the Federal Trade Commission, and other regulatory agencies, including the review of product labels, labeling, advertising, websites, and other marketing materials. Prochnow and his team also defend industry companies from both governmental agencies and civil litigators in litigation ranging from breach of contract cases to the growing number of class actions alleging false and misleading advertising.
Strong, of counsel in the Denver Intellectual Property Practice, focuses her practice on protecting and enforcing intellectual property rights, including trademarks, copyrights, patents, and trade secrets; and assisting clients in recognizing and developing the value of their intellectual property assets. Strong has litigated numerous trademark and copyright infringement cases in various jurisdictions. She is licensed to practice in the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office and represents clients in trademark proceedings before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board and in domain name dispute proceedings, as well as providing trademark clearance and trademark prosecution services. Her counseling and trademark portfolio management skills include obtaining U.S. and foreign trademark registrations around the world.
