Guus Stille is a former judge and a former professor on civil law.
Before joining Greenberg Traurig, Guus served as a judge in the Amsterdam Court of Appeal, as judge and vice-president in The Hague Court of Appeal, and as a deputy judge at the District Court of Amsterdam and Utrecht. In addition, he was managing director of the International Legal Institute (Stichting Internationaal Juridisch Instituut), professor of notarial law at Utrecht University, and extraordinary professor of matrimonial property and inheritance law at the University of Amsterdam.
Guus also served as Special Clerk in the Dutch Parliament. In that role, he advised on inheritance law legislation (new Civil Code of the Netherlands).
Guus received his law degree from Radboud University. He obtained his doctorate on corporate law from the University of Amsterdam. Additionally, he has completed extracurricular classes in civil and private international law (conflict of laws) at University of Valencia in Spain, and penal law at Leiden University.
Guus regularly publishes and lectures on civil and commercial law issues.
