Privacy and Cybersecurity Law Developments in China, the EU and the US: Cross-Border Alignment and Compliance

GT's Francoise Gilbert (SV) will be a speaker at The Berkeley Center for Law & Technology's Privacy and Cybersecurity Law Developments in China, the EU and the US: Cross-Border Alignment and Compliance conference on March 1. The conference will address the question of interoperability: what strategies can global companies adopt in complying with the laws of China, the US and Europe (and the rest of the world) and how should the laws of those countries develop to better protect consumers while also fostering innovation and competition. Conference topics will include the definition of reasonable cybersecurity standards under the laws of China, the EU and the US; corporate data governance strategies in the face of overlapping requirements; and enforcement. Francoise will be a speaker on the Enforcement: The Emerging Practice of Privacy and Cybersecurity Enforcement panel, discussing the core characteristics of an effective enforcement agency in Europe, the US and China.
