Ballon, who splits his time between Greenberg Traurig’s Silicon Valley and Los Angeles offices, has been recognized in Chambers Global for Privacy & Data Security every year since 2008. He is co-chair of the firm’s Global Intellectual Property & Technology Practice Group, representing clients in Internet and mobile-related IP and technology litigation, including the defense of data privacy, security breach, and TCPA class action suits. He is the author of Thomson West’s best-selling four-volume legal treatise on cybersecurity and data privacy law, E-Commerce and Internet Law: Treatise With Forms 2d Edition (Thomson West 2016 Cum. Supp., www.IanBallon.net), which includes exhaustive analysis of data privacy, security breach, CAN-SPAM, TCPA, and related privacy and security issues, and which has been cited in state and federal court opinions.
