FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – May 10, 2016 – William R. Clayton, a Fort Lauderdale shareholder and Co-Chair of the Real Estate Litigation Practice at international law firm Greenberg Traurig P.A., recently co-presented the seminar titled, “Conquering the Courtroom: Winning Your Case with Precision Salvos,” for the Broward County Bar Association (BCBA) and American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA). As a Board Certified Civil Pretrial and Trial Advocate, Clayton delivered an informative presentation titled, “Winning Your Case in Voir Dire from the Defense Perspective.”
Listed in The Best Lawyers in America for Commercial Litigation since 2010, Clayton serves on the Board of Directors for both the Broward County Bar Association and the American Board of Trial Lawyers. In 2015, he was selected as Trial Lawyer of the Year by the Fort Lauderdale chapter of the American Board of Trial Advocates.
Clayton in 2014 won a jury trial in West Palm Beach in a breach of contract, civil conspiracy, breach of fiduciary duty and tortious interference case for a retired Fort Lauderdale-based concert promotion company owner and restaurateur. Plaintiffs had sought minimum damages of $4.9 million.
At Greenberg Traurig, Clayton focuses his practice on commercial litigation and is frequently retained as lead trial counsel by New York Stock Exchange and Nasdaq companies (on plaintiff and defense sides). He maintains a national civil trial practice, having tried more than 100 cases in state and federal courts, and has won more than $100 million in jury verdicts for both plaintiff and the defense.
