A veteran real estate lawyer known for handling complicated deals has joinedGreenberg Traurig LLP after more than three decades at Brown Rudnick LLP.
Edward Hershfield, a shareholder in Greenberg Traurig’s Boston office, has built up a specialty in “properties that have some hair on them,” as he put it, including environmentally contaminated sites and properties with zoning problems.
“Ultimately, it became a question of the platform,” Hershfield said of his decision to switch firms. “A number of the clients I work with really operate nationally and internationally. In my view, Greenberg Traurig’s platform is really unparalleled.”
Greenberg Traurig has more than three dozen locations around the world, including throughout the U.S. It is one of 27 U.S. firms that had more than $1 billion in gross revenue last year, according to The American Lawyer. Brown Rudnick, by contrast, has nine locations total, with its U.S. offices clustered in the Northeast.
