Greenberg Traurig has added two liability and mass tort partners to its Houston office from Vorys Sater Seymour and Pease LLP, including the partner who founded Vorys Sater’s Houston office.
David Oliver, who launched the Houston office for Vorys Sater in 2009, is a seasoned litigator who concentrates his practice in liability, toxic torts and food liability litigation. Paul Kerlin also concentrates on mass torts, both at the trial and appellate level, and represents businesses and contractors in defamation and disparagement actions.
Both partners earned undergraduate degrees in the sciences. Oliver told Law360 that as scientific research goes through a paradigm shift, so too does the practice of law, with both calling for better understanding of complexity.
“Changes that have come to our clients are finally coming to the practice of law,” Oliver said. “To me it was a matter of swimming with the tide.”
