DENVER – Nov. 28, 2017 – Two leading energy lawyers from global law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP, were named to the Denver Business Journal’s prestigious “Who’s Who in Energy” list. Recognized for their breadth of experience in the energy sector, Troy A. Eid (Litigation) and Paul M. Seby (Environmental) will be recognized on Dec. 5, 2017, at a VIP reception in Denver.
Who's Who in Energy recognizes individuals whose position, knowledge, or expertise helps guide the energy sector. Nominees come from many fields, including exploration, production, engineering, renewables, law, well services, finance, manufacturing, education, training, public policy, and environmental, among others.

Asked by the Denver Business Journal to describe the areas where both Eid and Seby are considered top in their field, both attorneys point to well-publicized energy and environmental matters where they played a major role, including successfully challenging major U.S. Department of Interior Bureau of Land Management (BLM)and Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) regulations, representing one of the largest coal mines in the country, and coordinating the representation of a large publicly traded oil and gas midstream company in relation to the Clean Water Act and/or Safe Drinking Water Act.
Eid, a former United States Attorney for the District of Colorado, co-chairs the firm’s American Indian Law Practice and first joined Greenberg Traurig in 2003. He is often retained by energy companies and Indian tribes to mediate disputes between them. Troy is currently mediating Davilla et al. and Kiowa Tribe of Oklahoma v. Enable Midstream Partners, LP in the Western District of Oklahoma, in which a federal judge ordered the removal of Enable’s natural gas pipeline after its right-of-way easement crossing Indian lands expired.
Seby is a leading energy and environmental law practitioner with experience helping diverse clients achieve success on complex matters involving energy and natural resource development. He counsels clients in the energy, mining, manufacturing, and service sectors on how to navigate and successfully operate within the complex framework of state and federal environmental regulations and policies. Under Seby’s leadership, several landmark energy and environmental cases have come before the U.S. Supreme Court and U.S. Courts of Appeal for review.
