Greenberg Traurig Attorneys to Speak at Consumer Financial Services Conference

CHICAGO – MAY 15, 2017 – Jennifer L. Gray, Nathan J. Muyskens, and Gil Rudolph, of global law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP, are speakers at the Annual Consumer Financial Services Conference sponsored by the Conference on Consumer Finance Law today and tomorrow at the Loyola University Chicago School of Law.

Rudolph will moderate the panel, “Update on the CFPB – Powers, Agenda, and Outlook for Regulations 2017 and Beyond” and Gray will speak on the panel, “Regulatory Implications for Fintech.” Muyskens will moderate a panel on cybersecurity.

The conference addresses issues common to many types of consumer financial service companies, or of general interest and will address mortgage lending and servicing issues, regulation, and bankruptcy issues.

The Conference on Consumer Finance Law is a nonprofit organization founded in 1926 by members of the legal profession and the financial services industry to offer educational services, publications, and research relating to consumer financial services law.

Gray serves as co-chair of Greenberg Traurig’s Consumer Financial Services Litigation Practice. She represents banks, credit unions, mortgage lenders and servicers, Fintech companies, and other financial institutions in consumer finance litigation, including class actions. She also counsels clients on consumer finance regulatory and compliance issues. Gray currently serves as an editor of Greenberg Traurig’s Financial Services Observer blog and is a frequent speaker and writer on consumer finance topics.

Muyskens represents corporate and individual clients in criminal grand jury investigations and prosecutions, internal investigations, regulatory inquiries and enforcement matters, and related parallel civil proceedings. Muyskens defends companies in corruption investigations and other matters related to the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, and has experience handling government antitrust investigations on behalf of companies in various industries, such as healthcare, air travel, defense, pharmaceuticals, energy, chemicals, home products, and technology. In addition, Muyskens has conducted numerous internal investigations into cyber breaches, phishing schemes, denial-of-service attacks, and other cyber crimes. Muyskens routinely counsels boards of directors and audit committees on issues of corporate governance related to cyber intrusions.

Rudolph is co-chair of the firm's Financial Regulatory and Compliance Practice. He focuses his practice on the representation of financial service providers including finance companies, banks, mortgage originators and servicers, education lenders, retail installment transaction financers, and other consumer financial service providers in compliance, regulatory, and litigation matters. He also represents various alternative financial service providers, including small dollar lenders, check cashers, pawn, and auto title lenders. He additionally represents various participants in the credit, debit, and prepaid card issuance and processing industries.
