MIAMI – June 8, 2017 - Alfredo J. Gonzalez, a shareholder in the Land Development Practice in the Miami office of international law firm Greenberg Traurig, P.A., has been appointed to serve a one-year term on the Miami-Dade County Charter Review Task Force.
The Miami-Dade County Charter Review Task Force was created to review and make recommendations to the county’s rules and amendments. Members conduct public hearings, host regional public meetings, and provide written recommendations to the Board of County Commissioners.
“I am honored to serve on the Charter Review Task Force, as it will allow me to tap into my more than 25 years of knowledge and experience in county government, gained from working both as a county employee and as an attorney in the private sector,” Gonzalez said. “I look forward to working with other task force members to analyze the county’s charter and evaluate any proposals that would benefit our residents and business community, before making final recommendations to the Mayor and the Board of County Commissioners.”
At Greenberg Traurig, Gonzalez focuses his practice on the areas of local government law, particularly land use, zoning, code issues, procurement, and development law. He represents major developers in securing governmental approvals from large scale residential and commercial projects to single family projects. Gonzalez has also represented clients with entertainment venues on a variety of matters, including conditional use permit approvals and noise violations.
