MIAMI - March 13, 2018 – As part of global law firm Greenberg Traurig, P.A.'s longstanding tradition of giving back to the community that helped it grow, the Miami and Doral offices of the firm recently held their sixth annual GT Cares community service initiative.
Attorneys and business staff from the offices donated manpower, monetary contributions and supplies to benefit several local philanthropic causes over the course of two consecutive weekends between March 3 and March 10. These included Habitat for Humanity, Chapman Partnership, Make-A-Wish, and City Year.

Ibarra, Miami Co-Managing Shareholder. “Every one of our attorneys and business staff members who participate very much enjoy the opportunity to donate their time and resources to worthy organizations that are helping to make Miami a better place.”

March 3: Adam M. Foslid, a Shareholder in the Litigation Practice and Co-Hiring Shareholder for the Miami office, and Litigation Associate Robert S. Galbo spearheaded a group of 13 volunteers to install windows and doors in a Habitat for Humanity home. Habitat for Humanity provides low-income families with affordable homeownership opportunities. Foslid is a board member of Habitat for Humanity of Greater Miami. Galbo is a board member of Habitat for Humanity’s Young Professionals organization.
March 4: Brigid F. Cech Samole, a Shareholder in the firm’s Appellate Practice, led a group of 17 volunteers who prepared and served lunch provided by Greenberg Traurig to clients of the Chapman Partnership. Chapman Partnership operates two Homeless Assistance Centers with 800 beds located in Miami and Homestead. Collectively, these two centers serve approximately 5,000 men, women, and families with children annually. Cech Samole is a member of the Chapman Partnership Board of Trustees.
March 5-9: Danielle Gonzalez, a Real Estate Shareholder, and Litigation Associate Jared R. Kessler led a weeklong “Jeans Day” fundraising campaign to benefit the Make-A-Wish Champions South Florida Chapter. Make-A-Wish Southern Florida grants the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy. The Southern Florida Chapter grants a wish every 16 hours and has granted more than 10,000 wishes since its inception in 1983. Gonzalez is a member of the Board of Directors of the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Southern Florida. Kessler has been Co-Chair of the Make-A-Wish Champions South Florida Chapter since 2016.
March 10: Benjamin L. Reiss, a Shareholder in the firm’s Litigation Practice, led 20 Greenberg Traurig volunteers and a City Year Civic Engagement Team in a project to beautify Miami Edison Senior High. They painted murals and completed a landscaping project funded by the firm. City Year is an education-based non-profit organization that supports students in need and the communities in which they live, learn and play. Young adults between the ages of 18 and 25 dedicate 10 months of service in a school with high needs, acting as a coach and tutor in classrooms and after school programming. Reiss is a member of the City Year Miami Board of Advisors.
