MIAMI – April 30, 2018 – Julissa Rodriguez, Chair of global law firm Greenberg Traurig's Miami Appellate Practice Group, has been named a 2018 Influential Business Woman by the South Florida Business Journal. The honor is given to women who have made profoundly positive impacts within their professions and their communities. Rodriguez and the other award recipients will be honored on May 11 at an event at the Pier Sixty-Six Hotel & Marina in Fort Lauderdale.
“I am honored and grateful to receive this distinction,” said Rodriguez. “Having the opportunity to make a positive difference in the legal community and through various South Florida organizations is a priority for me.”
Rodriguez is Board Certified in Appellate Practice by The Florida Bar. She focuses her practice on appellate litigation and trial support during all stages of litigation leading up to an appeal, which includes pre-trial motion practice, jury instructions, and post-trial motion practice, as well as advising clients on securing stays of judgments while a case is pending on appeal. She represents clients in both state and federal courts in a variety of areas of the law, including products liability, medical malpractice, employment litigation, and contract disputes.
Rodriguez also is a member of the Board of Directors of the Miami-Dade County Chapter of the Florida Association of Women Lawyers (FAWL). FAWL is a voluntary bar association formed in 1951 that promotes women’s rights and the common interests of women lawyers. It strives to propel women lawyers into economic, social and leadership spheres of power.
In receiving the distinction of Influential Business Woman, Rodriguez joins several other Greenberg Traurig shareholders who have also received the designation by the publication, including firm Co-President Hilarie Bass; and Shareholders Kerri L.
