BOSTON – Nov. 17, 2020 – Greenberg Traurig, LLP’s Boston Intellectual Property & Technology (IP) Group congratulates three of its clients – Cruzar Medsystems, Inc., Philipp K. Lang, and the University of New England – for being honored with the 2020 Boston Patent Law Association (BPLA) Invented Here! award for their patented innovations. This is the seventh consecutive year that Greenberg Traurig’s Boston IP Group has had clients recognized by the BPLA Invented Here! Committee.

Greenberg Traurig’s clients were selected for the following patents:

• “Catheter with vessel lining and methods for using same," (U.S. Patent No. 10,441,755) assigned to Cruzar Medsystems, Inc.; represented by Chinh H. Pham.

• “Augmented reality guidance systems for superimposing virtual implant components onto the physical joint of a patient," (U.S. Patent No. 10,368,947) assigned to Philipp K. Lang; represented by Barry Schindler and Natalie Salem, Ph.D.

• “Methods and Diagnostics for Cancer Detection and Treatment Monitoring,” (U.S. Patent No. 10,073,099) assigned to the University of New England; represented by Roman Fayerberg.

This year, the BPLA noted that it received 78 patent nominations, covering a wide range of sciences and technologies, and only 18 were selected as honorees. Honorees will be recognized at a virtual awards reception on Tuesday, Nov. 17, 2020.

According to the BPLA’s website, the Invented Here! award celebrates local and regional New England innovation communities by honoring selected innovators, their inventions, and the stories behind them. The BPLA’s Invented Here! program aims to present breakthrough technologies from New England that will shape the way people interact with each other and with the world around them, fulfill important individual and/or social needs in novel ways, and ensure a more sustainable future for our environment.
