MIAMI – Mar. 9, 2020 – Robert R. Kane III, a shareholder in the West Palm Beach office of global law firm Greenberg Traurig, P.A., has been appointed chair of the Best Buddies Advisory Board in Palm Beach. Kane has been a member of the board since 2017.
Best Buddies International is a nonprofit organization dedicated to establishing a global volunteer movement that creates opportunities for one-to-one friendships, integrated employment, leadership development, and inclusive living for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD), according to its website.
“I was attracted to Best Buddies years ago when I learned of the group’s mission and activities to enrich the lives of youth and adults with and without IDD,” Kane said. “I am excited to continue to work with my fellow board members to grow the footprint of Best Buddies’ representation in the community and address the underemployment of individuals with IDD. We hope that many in our community will join us at our upcoming Best Buddies Friendship Walk on May 16.”
The Beach Best Buddies Friendship Walk: West Palm Beach will take place from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on May 16 at the FITTEAM Ballpark of the Palm Beaches in West Palm Beach. The goal of the Friendship Walk is to raise awareness for inclusion, friendship, leadership development, and integrated job opportunities for people with IDD. All funds raised in support of the walk go towards funding local Best Buddies programs.
