Greenberg Traurig Receives IFLR Americas Award 2020 for ‘Deal of the Year’

NEW YORK – May 18, 2020 – Global law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP received the IFLR Americas Award 2020 for ‘Deal of Year’ in the loans category for representation of Aeropuertos Argentina 2000 S.A.

Greenberg Traurig attorneys represented Aeropuertos Argentina 2000, as borrower, in connection with a $120 million financing consisting of two concurrent dollar-denominated credit facility agreements, one with a group of onshore banks and another with a group of offshore banks. Both credit facilities are secured by local collateral and are subject to the terms of an inter-creditor agreement. The deal closed in August 2019.

According to its website, the IFLR awards recognize legal innovation in cross-border

transactions. To be considered, all deals must have closed in 2019. An IFLR team completes the research and an internal judging panel comprised of editors and journalists selects the winners.

The Greenberg Traurig attorney team was led by New York office Corporate Practice Shareholders Marc M. Rossell and Todd E. Bowen.

“We are excited to be recognized by IFLR for our representation of Aeropuertos Argentina 2000 in this complex transaction that involved the navigation of challenging regulatory considerations,” said Rossell, who is co-chair of the firm’s Latin America Practice. “This deal required an important amount of coordination and teamwork given the complexity involved with structuring a cross-border transaction in Argentina. We utilized an innovative structure that worked with both national tax and regulatory requirements while also imitating syndicated loan dynamics.”
